When Stories Turn into Action

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
― Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

We started working on this podcast six months ago with the goal to learn more and dig below the superficial discussions about diversity and inclusion in the workplace. It all started because Christopher and I were frustrated with the numerous talks and panels we attended where the discussion failed to turn into action. The intent was good, but the follow through was nearly non-existent. Both of us are privy to conversations that beyond proved the need for desperate change within the tech industry, and that’s where we thought we’d focus our energy. As we got into planning and researching for the development of this podcast, we realized we had the opportunity to amplify stories that extended across industries, geographical locations, and identities. With each person we met, we were introduced to several more -- all folks doing the heavy lifting of diversifying the workforce, educating  leadership teams, and making real impact to create more inclusive and equitable spaces for people from all backgrounds and experiences.

The stories are incredible.

More people need to hear them.

This podcast has evolved into so much more than we could have anticipated and the fact that daily we get to interact with, converse with, and learn from folks who have been doing this work for decades is humbling at the least.

We're so excited to share these conversations with the world and we are even more excited to have you along for the journey, to continue to hear these stories and learn together daily.
